Dr. Michael Halperin is a spinal surgeon who graduated from Emory University and earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He did a spine fellowship at the Texas Back Institute. His interests include cervical and lumbar surgical care. In the neck, he treats conditions including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis and deformity. He specializes in minimally invasive artificial disc replacement. This allows for relief of pain while preserving motion and without the need to do fusions. Most of his neck surgeries are outpatient and do not require hospital admission.

In the lumbar spine, many of his surgeries are also performed outpatient, with minimally invasive techniques. These include lumbar microdiscectomies for herniated discs, decompressions for spinal stenosis and fusions for severe arthritis and/or deformity. Dr. Halperin performs robotic and spinal navigation surgeries, offering the latest state-of-the-art technologies to make procedures safer and easier to recover from.
