Dr. Stanat, a New York native, graduated in 2000 from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He obtained his Medical Degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Brooklyn NY, in 2006 and his residency was completed at SUNY Stony Brook University Medical Center in 2011. Dr. Stanat went on to complete a total joint replacement fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Fl.
During his fellowship training, he worked with several world renowned surgeons within the field of total joint arthroplasty. Dr. Stanat specializes in Total Joint Replacement. His focus is managing prior total hip and knee replacements that might require revision from pain, loosening or infection. When needed, osteotomies, allograft reconstruction and tumor prosthesis are utilized. For primary joint replacement he utilizes muscle sparing approaches, bone preserving implants and where possible computer navigation techniques.
Dr. Stanat is currently Medical Director of the Joint Replacement Program, for Hartford Healthcare’s Eastern Region.
He is the primary author of multiple publications in the field of Orthopedics and Total Joint Arthroplasty. Currently, he serves as a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
