Background
Jonathan R. Piposar M.D. is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is fellowship trained in arthroscopic surgery and the management of sports-related injuries. He specializes in complex injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hips, knees and ankles. Utilizing the latest techniques, Dr. Piposar focuses on non-operative and minimally invasive treatment of common traumatic and overuse type injuries.
Dr. Piposar is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed a one year general surgery preliminary residency at Temple University Hospital before completing his orthopaedic residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He did a one year sports medicine specialization fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA where he was the assistant team doctor for Tufts University and the Boston Celtics.
Dr. Piposar specializes in comprehensive non-surgical and surgical treatment of joint disorders, fracture care, overuse injuries, and osteoarthritis.
He is on staff at Yale-New Haven’s Lawrence & Memorial (L & M) Hospital. He has operating privileges at L & M Hospital as well as the Constitution Surgery Center East outpatient surgical center.
