My Background
Dr. Halperin graduated in 1982 from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1986. Following medical school, Dr. Halperin served a one year internship in general surgery at the Westchester County Medical Center. Afterwards, he trained in a four year Orthopedic Surgery Residency program at New York Medical College. Upon completion of his orthopedic training in 1991, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he did a one year fellowship in spinal surgery at the Texas Back Institute. There, he trained with both neurosurgeons and orthopedic spinal surgeons, treating all types of spinal disorders. Dr. Halperin’s interests include the surgical treatment of cervical (neck) and lumbar (lower back) disorders.
Dr. Halperin belongs to multiple medical and orthopedic professional societies. He has given many lectures on various topics of orthopedic and spinal surgery.
Dr. Halperin is on staff at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich and at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.
