During his time in Duke University’s Fellowship program in Orthopedic Surgery, EJ practiced in all areas of orthopedic surgery. It was there where he developed a particular interest in the sub-specialty of hand and upper extremity.

From his 7 years actively practicing as an athletic trainer to his Advanced Training in Orthopedic Surgery at Duke after receiving his Masters as a PA, EJ has the passion and expertise to help you live your life in full motion again.

Emil (EJ) Occhiboi, PA-C received his Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Quinnipiac University in 2018. 

He then continued his post-graduate studies and completed a highly selective Physician Assistant Residency/Fellowship program in Orthopedic Surgery at Duke University.

During that time, he was a board-certified physician assistant resident practicing in all areas of orthopedic surgery. It was there that he developed a particular interest in the sub-specialty of the hand and upper extremities.

EJ also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Springfield College and practiced as a certified athletic trainer for a total of 7 years.

Your Orthopedic PA will evaluate your pain and the surgical and non-surgical treatments available to help you decide the right course of treatment.

Treat

Your Orthopedic PA is trained to provide the latest treatments available and assist you with onsite injections, aspirations medication management, ordering images, wound care and more.

Collaborate

Depending on the specifics of your injury and your recovery plan, your PA will collaborate with the Surgical and Rehabilitation team and remain your point person for continued care.
