About
Sara

Sara Cave, an experienced Occupational Therapist with 13 years of dedicated practice, is a proud graduate of Quinnipiac University, where she earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2010. Sara’s professional journey commenced in the acute care setting at Saint Raphael’s Hospital, where she gained valuable experience working with cardiac patients, post-stroke individuals, and orthopedic populations. Her passion for helping diverse patient groups led her to explore per diem opportunities at pediatric and skilled nursing facilities.

In 2015, Sara embarked on a new chapter in her career, transitioning to outpatient rehabilitation in Old Saybrook. Over the past eight years, she has continuously honed her skills, specializing in hand therapy and upper extremity rehabilitation during her tenure at Yale New Haven Hospital. Sara’s commitment to patient care extends beyond therapy sessions; she collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other physical medicine providers to support individuals dealing with conditions such as cerebral palsy, brachial plexus birth palsy, and premature infants. With a special interest in hand injuries and pediatric orthopedic issues, Sara brings a wealth of expertise to the Orthopartners team. When not working, she enjoys cherished moments with her two boys and husband, savoring the great outdoors through hiking and indulging her artistic side with painting.
